FINE, ANCIENNE ET IMPORTANTE PLAQUE / PENDENTIF EN JADE PLANC, SIGNÉE ZIGANG CHINE De forme rectangulaire, sculptée dans une pierre blanche laiteuse de haute qualité avec peu ou pas d'inclusions. Sculptée en bas-relief d'un petit coq et d'un rocher sur un côté. Sujet attractif remarquablement exécuté dans le jeu des vides et des pleins et le relief. Les plumes du coq sont finement incisées, un mouvement léger anime son corps. Le revers est sculpté d'un poème et de la signature de l'atelier de Zigang. Les deux côtés sont encadrés par des dragons archaïques. Ce qui dans la plupart des plaques du même type serait laissé non sculpté est ici décoré de lignes semicirculaires. Percement sommital pour suspension. IMPORTANT ANTIQUE CARVED WHITE JADE ROOSTER PLAQUE, SIGNED ZIGANG CHINA Of rectangular form and with a desirable 2/3 size ratio, thickly carved in a very pleasing milky white stone with little or no inclusions. Low relief carving showing a cockerel and rockery to one side. Very desirable as a subject where both negative space and superbly skilled carving play off one another. The cockerel is nicely defined with detailed carving to depict the individual feathers and flowing movement in the body. The reverse shows a poem and signature of the workshop for Zigang. Both sides are framed by writhing archaic formed dragons. What would otherwise be plain areas are here decorated with fine and pleasing wheel-cut semi-circular lines. Pierced at top for suspension.
