Finely carved in high relief baluster form vase of near perfect quality white jade stone and of monumental size; resting on an undercut rockery, with flattened ovate belly, incurvate neck, oval mouth, conforming collar and a lid topped by a mushroom finial; the shoulders depicting two qilong-head masks with loop handles, the left connected to the encircling branches of the cover by chain; fronted with a magnificent partly undercut phoenix (feng) perched on an outcrop of rocks beside luxuriant peonies (fugui hua), with feathers finely detailed with striations; the lid centered by zhuanshu four-character mark.
