Meir Padan collection:

Born in 1923 in Bucharest, Romania, Meir Padan embarked on a multifaceted journey that blended engineering expertise with a profound passion for the arts. Graduating as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Textile machinery from the Politehnica University of Bucharest, he laid the foundation for a career marked by innovation.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Meir Padan exhibited a deep affection for art, history, music, and aviation. As an enthusiastic pilot of small airplanes, he found solace in the skies during leisurely flights. In 1950, he married Erna, and together, they chose to forge a new life in Israel. In 1958, he established his own apparel business, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit. And finally, he moved his family to Montreal in 1968.

Over the next four decades, Meir Padan delved into the realms of art and history, meticulously amassing a collection that reflected his discerning taste. His passion for these treasures was unwavering, and he resisted parting with the majority of his acquisitions. Surrounding himself with beauty, talent, and historical significance, he immersed himself in his art collection until his final days.

The auction fees of 20% over and above the hammer price, as well as taxes (when applicable) are added to all lots purchased at the auction.
