OSTENSOIR / MONSTRANCE
Important monstrance with a quadripod base in gilded metal. The lunula used to display the consecrated host is decorated with two cherubs on the upper part and two others on the left and right. The bottom part displays a bunch of grapes and leaves, which refers to the blood of Christ. A magnificent radiance encircles the whole. There are twenty-four rays. The whole is surmounted by a Latin cross with trefoil ends and ornamented with foliage. The body is decorated with leaves, flourishes and cherubs. The foot displays on the main face an Agnus Dei on a Bible. The sides display bunches of grapes. The back displays a triangle, symbol of the Holy Trinity, with inscriptions in Hebrew. The legs are richly decorated with flowers and plant motifs.
